Weekend!

The weekend is finally here (and the end of the month).  Barely had a day off in two months but headed to San Diego for the night as I have to give a presentation in the morning.  Chopper will be chilling this weekend as well.

Glittered Goodies

Glittered Goodies

It's no secret that I love glitter.  I have about every set of Martha Stewart glitter that you could buy.  I love to make glitter crafts, send cards with glittle to my friends (which is not always as appreciated when the glitter comes loose), and I am constantly looking for more glittered goodies to add to my collection (or to try my own hand at).

I am a little obsessed with those glitter thumb tacks and I think they would brighten up a boring cork board.  And as for the glitter darts, I've been looking for a glitter dart board for some time now.  As for glitter party decorations - obviously a party is not a party without some glitter.

Pigeonholed

I have no love for pigeons.  My sister was afraid of them as a child so they would sometimes ruin a trip to the park as she would flip out.  And I don't trust the fact that I have never seen a baby pigeon.  All that being said I came across this print the other day and day at Oeilwein and thought it was too cute not to share.  I like that the design is so simple and the tiny little Eiffel Tower doesn't hurt either.

Last weekend I met a friend at Royal T for brunch and some shopping.  It is a cafe, art gallery and gift shop.  They also have events on a regular basis and pop up shops.

Through the end of summer the show is "The Art of Cooking" curated by Hanne Mugass.  The works included span different media, from drawing and painting to digital prints and clothing.  Including large pinata fruit from Confetti System.

The current pop up shop is Onch MovementOnch is a Young Fun Edgy jewelry designer from LA. The goal for Onch Movement, is to create an Art Movement collaborating with different artists, forming an influential niche that produces amazing art pieces/jewelry.  The items include pretzel necklaces, crazy wigs, meat necklaces (think Lady Gaga) and crocheted cupcake hats.

My favorite though had to be the sparkly "BANG" sign - I might have to try and recreate that but on a smaller scale (I just need to find a place for it).

Neon Rhinestone Jewelry

A few months ago I became obsessed with a necklace that I saw Kelly Ripa wearing. After some research I figured out that it was Tom Binns necklace and a little outside of my price range. Then I took to Etsy to see if there was anything similar and boy was I surprised to find a pretty extensive collection of shops in a few different price ranges.  I found one that was very similar to original necklace and in my price range.  Most of the jewelry is vintage rhinestone pieces that have been hand painted and are little works of art. I ended up wearing the orange and yellow choker with a turquoise dress to a tea and got lots of compliments.

Some Sunday Shopping

Sunday Shopping

Sunday I went to Target with the intention of making some returns and buying some soap.  As always there was something unexpected that I just had to have.  Got some stuff for the bar cart - a handle bar wine opener ($10), a jewel ice cube tray ($9), some fun cocktail napkins ($1) and some funky straws ($1 per pack).  Can't wait to use some of these.  They also had some washi tape - $4 for a pack of four so I stocked up on those!  And a waving Queen of England - now any time I want to pretend I was at the Jubilee I just have to find a sunny window sill and she will wave away.
